Is a language intellectual property of its speakers?

If you believe this question to be silly, read this news. Chile's Mapuche Indians vs. Microsoft, as they didn't authorize Windows translation in their language. Spite of my antipathy in respect of Microsoft, I feel the company is right this time. Who owns a language? Should we copyright even languages? I think no. If they don't want to use Windows in their language, they are free not to do so.
